 Day 1

Dambulla
Arrive at the Sri Lanka International airport, clear immigration, meet and greet with tour guide and transfer to hotel, then the tour guide will escort you to the front desk for check-in formalities to get the room key. En route visit Pinnewela Elephant Orphanage - Approx. 55 miles from Colombo, off the Colombo - Kandy road is Pinnawela, where an orphanage was started in 1975 to house the abandoned and the wounded elephants. Afternoon is free for your own. Dinner & overnight stay in Dambulla.

Day 2

Dambulla – Anuradhapura - Dambulla

After breakfast proceed to visit Anuradhapura. After Anuradhapura visit Dambulla cave temple and Sigiriya Rock. (outside view)

Anuradhapura - the capital of Sri Lanka from the 05th Century B.C. to the end of the 10th Century A.D. was the most celebrated of Sri Lanka’s ancient ruined cities. The city’s most renowned relic is the sacred Bodhi Tree, which is said to have grown from a branch of the tree under which the Buddha gained Enlightenment.

Dambulla Cave Temple (also known as the Golden Temple of Dambulla) is a World Heritage Site (1991) in Sri Lanka situated in the central part of the country. It is the largest and best preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka. There are more than 80 documented Caves in the surrounding area.

 Sigiriya – is a “UNESCO World Heritage Site” and the 5th Century “Fortress in the Sky” which is perhaps the most fantastic single wonder of the Island. It is also known as Lion Rock because of the huge lion that used to stand at the entrance to the Palace on the summit of the 600-foot high rock. On its summit are the foundations of the Royal Palace, Water Tanks to supply water and all other buildings and at the edges the guardhouses.

Day 3

Dambulla – Kandy:

After breakfast visit Kandy tooth relic temple.

Kandy – The hill capital is another “World Heritage Sites”. It was the last stronghold of the Sinhalese Kings during the Portuguese, Dutch and British rule and finally lost to the British in 1815 after an agreement.

Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic - Ever since 4th Century A.D, when the Buddha’s Tooth was brought to Sri Lanka hidden from sacrilegious hands in an Orissan princess’ hair, the Relic has grown in repute and holiness in Sri Lanka and throughout the Buddhist world.

Dinner & overnight stay in Kandy.

 

Day 4

Kandy – Nuwara Eliya
After breakfast check out from hotel and transfer to Nuwara Eliya. Visit Tea garden and tea factory. Nuwara Eliya - The ‘Little England’ of Sri Lanka, is set against beautiful backdrops of Mountains, Valleys, Waterfalls and Tea Plantations. It is supposed to be one of the coolest places in the Island, but it is really just like an English spring day, although the temperature does drop at night. All around Nuwara Eliya you will see evidence of the British influence, houses like country cottages or Queen Ann style mansions. Dinner & overnight stay in Nuwara Eliya. 

Day 5

Nuwara Eliya – Colombo

After breakfast check out and proceed for Colombo. Enjoy Colombo City tour. Overnight stay in Colombo.

Colombo - visit fort and Pettah areas and drive past the 100-year-old clock tower, the old parliament and several British built, colonial buildings.  other places of interest are, a Hindu and a Buddhist temple, residential areas where you find the stately homes of the affluent, the Colombo museum, the Bandaranaike memorial international conference hall (BMICH).  Also visit the ceramics corporation showrooms, the ODEL unlimited dress boutique and the majestic city shopping complex.

 

Day 6

Colombo – Negombo
After breakfast check out from hotel and transfer to Negombo, enjoy Negombo city orientation tour.
 

Day 7

Negombo –Departure
 After breakfast check out from hotel and transfer airport.
